Find Your Gratitude

Gratitude, by definition, is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. It doesn’t mean that everything is exactly how you want it to be or that your life is perfect. Its an act of appreciation for either how things are or even from what you have learned from it and the impact it has had on your life in whatever capacity or way that might be. 

Sometimes being grateful doesn’t come to you in the way you think it should, if you experience something that makes you question the good, it’s easy to blame that circumstance or person for all the bad in your life. We usually find it easier to cope when we have something to blame but there is always two sides to everything so if you are going to blame someone or something for the bad, you have to blame them for all the good as well. If you been bullied or someone else has hurt you, you’ve also been taught the importance of kindness. If someone has broken your heart, they have also taught you to love. It doesn’t mean that you are grateful for being hurt but give yourself the peace of mind of being grateful that you are strong enough to survive and learn on the other side of it. 

Be grateful for every part of your life, even the parts you can’t control or the ones that didn’t go the way you wanted them to. It doesn’t mean that every part of your life is perfect or how you had hoped it would have gone but it means that you have enough love and hope within your life that instead of blaming those circumstances for what happened you can be grateful for what you have learnt from it. Even if all you learned was that you never want to be in that position again, it will make you more grateful to havemade it to the other side.

Grateful for where I’m at and excited about where I’m going 

It is important to spread gratitude everywhere;

+  towards yourself because you have respect for how far you have come and your growth 

+  towards the people around you because they have brought so much positivity into your life 

+ towards the negative circumstances or people that have come into your life but all the lessons

+  to the lessons because of what they have taught you and how much

stronger you are because of them 

+  towards your life because of the abundance you have each day 

+  towards where you live because of its beauty

+ towards your future for all your opportunity and the freedom to choose
